There is no denying that the 6 weeks holidays can be either 6 weeks of fun or 6 weeks of hell for parents, so in this blog I tell you some of my family favourite days out and things to do, as qell as where you can see Magic Frostie in the summer holidays! Make sure you have a bottle of water nearby, plenty of suncream and try not to eat too many ice creams!
Colchester Zoo
Colchester Zoo is the second largest zoo in the UK and is always a family favourite for us! Not only are there plenty of animals to see, but there are several play areas and activities to get involved with. Come on a Monday, and you’ll get the chance to see a Magic Frostie show on the main stage outside Penguinis. To find out more about Colchester Zoo click HERE!
Kidbusterz Holiday Club
Kidbusterz is the very best Holiday Club and redefines childcare with plenty of fabulous activities for the children. I’ve been working with Wez and the team for around 3 years now, and am proud to be a part of the Kidbusterz family. There are now two holiday clubs running in Basildon and Witham, you can see Magic Frostie at the clubs on 30th July, 13th August & 30th August, to find out more about Kidbusterz click HERE!
Minnie’s Tea Room
Great Dunmow holds one of the greatest little tearooms for children. Minnie’s holds some fabulous events for you to enjoy with your children, from an afternoon tea with Rapunzel to The Magic Frostie Show. You can book your table today by clicking HERE!
Big Jam Sandwich
Get ready for Southend’s biggest and best summer picnic! Magic Frostie is hosting The Big Jam Sandwich. I’ll be joined by my friends Joe Banana, Peppa Pig, Bam Bam and Cbeebies Mr. Bloom. The last few tickets are on sale for The Big Jam Sandwich HERE!
Southend
It’s another wonderful thing to do in the summer, Southend. There is plenty to do along the seafront. Adventure Island has thrilling rides for the whole family and awesome minigolf. You can see the fish, penguins and monkeys at Sealife Adventure and finish off with a Rossi Ice Cream.
Clacton Pier & The Summer Show
No summer holiday would be complete without a trip to the seaside. Clacton Pier has had a £4,000,000 regeneration there is so much to do from the rides to their very own aquarium. Whilst you are in Clacton why not go to see my magical friend Danny Lee Grew in West Cliff Theatre’s Summer Show… .You can find out more about it HERE!
Audley End
Faries are real! They live at Audley End. With its mini railway and lots of activities Audley End has fast become one of our favourite days out. There’s not loads of walking to do, and the whole day is super chilled… We love Audley End and we think you will too.
Keeping Cool
There is no denying that it is very hot at the moment, and so I thought I would also add a list of things to do with air conditioning, here are my top ten Essex places to go.
1. The Cinema
This summer is all about Disney with Toy Story 4 still showing, Aladdin, The Lion King and Spiderman.. Personally I would go and see Aladdin!
2. Bowling
I have very fond memories of ten pin bowling with my Dad in the summer holidays.
3. Adventure Inside
Its soft play with air con… What’s not to like
4. Swimming
There are plenty of fun swimming pools around Essex with slides and kids love splashing about in the water with Mum and Dad.
5. Ice Cream Palour
Give your children a treat with one of Essex’s brilliant ice cream palours (be prepared for the sugar rush)
